MONDAY, ORDINARY TIME 15: LUNENBURG & YARMOUTH

View along the waterfront in Yarmouth, where we're spending tonight. It's definitely not as picturesque as Lunenburg:

But it's cool, and we had a nice dinner in a seafood restaurant/brew pub. Our Airbnb is nice, though not the gorgeous experience last night's was. It's in a funky little building kind of way out Main Street in Yarmouth, over a sign shop --- but the hosts live in the apartment next to this one and are nice, and it's all plenty clean and comfortable, so it's fine.

Fog was coming in when we went out to dinner, but by the time we were finished it had burned off again, and the harbor was looking beautiful.

Here are some lobster traps, of which there was a whole chain-link-fenced yard just up from the restaurant:

And here is, apparently, a dangerous gazebo:

Canada is full of perils.

Here, meanwhile, is the evolution of a basic outfit over the course of a day of travel (mostly in the car, but a fair amount of walking, too):

This morning: Marine Blue Fiona (wears in 2025: 11), with green merino-mohair-cashmere-cotton-viscose-blend pullover, veteran of two Norway trips and now keeping me warm mornings and evenings in Nova Scotia, plus blue-gray Allbirds tencel-merino leggings and Z-Trek sandals.

By midday I was pretty warm. After lunch the pullover came off, and when I got in the car, I took my leggings off as well.

The mirror situation in this Airbnb is as you see, but I can get my whole self in if I try. Anyway, here is the stripped-down version of the outfit, just dress + sandals.

By the time we were going out this evening, the air was cooling off significantly. And so:

I had my sweater in my bag, but didn't really need it. I was glad of the leggings, though. And I love my jean jacket. Why it's taken me so long to develop this level of attachment to that item of clothing I don't know, but now I don't know how I ever got dressed without it.

Anyway, once again, a single dress takes me from morning to night. Not that I was transitioning to and from wildly different contexts, but the weather does change, and I like feeling a little spiffed up to go to dinner. I like the blue-on-blue tonal thing for the evening . . . would be fun if I had some magenta Z-Treks (reader, I am not buying any more sandals at this time; it just occurs to me that that would make a really nice combination).

We're back in the Airbnb now, drinking tea. Tomorrow we go to Windsor. What adventures await us? We'll find out . . .
