Baby cosmos, in need of thinning, but it's always so lovely to see this next phase of leaves appear. I'm terrible at starting seeds indoors --- all the ones I started in February died, despite my attention and care (or maybe because of my attention and care). But once you can put seeds right in the ground outside, I'm there.
Chives coming up in the little bed around the stump:
Marigolds:
Butter lettuce just starting to come up:
I have one head that I grew from seed last fall and had overwinter successfully, but thought I could probably get another little crop in before it gets too hot.
Arugula going great guns and getting used all the time in my cooking and salad-making:
And because this is a post-lapserian garden:
Wild sweet-potato vine. Inedible and toxic. It just looks evil. We hates it, precious.
A lovely night out last night, hearing Baylor theologian Michael Foley talk about Augustine and self-knowledge. Today: yard work, housework, some work-work.
Wearing:
Back in wool! My Camellia challenge dress, coming around the bend into the stretch of another summer, with secondhand Icebreaker merino tee in this nice pink micro-stripe. This is my favorite of the wool tees I bought at the end of 2021, but I haven't worn it in a long time. Secondhand Birk Floridas on my feet.
Second-day hair after co-washing with VO5 yesterday. It did feel a little funky last night, but after sleeping on it and combing with a wide-toothed comb to detangle, it's pretty fresh and still holds a good bit of curl/wave, as well has volume. Still no Vida Bars! I get so impatient. But they will arrive, and we'll see how they perform.
And in the meantime I have stuff to do.
