THURSDAY, ORDINARY TIME 16

I haven't taken any inspiring photos since I've been home, so here's the harbor at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Much on today:

*dog walk

*take my car to mechanic (steering-column issue, and my tires are threadbare)

*take husband's car to Newton to meet friend for coffee

*call my mother

*work on essays for next week

*dinner --- it's our traditional pub night, but now that our traditional pub is closed, I'm not sure what we'll feel like doing. Also, we have eaten out a lot lately. We'll see what happens. If someone else insists on going out, I won't say no, but I'm not just dying to go out tonight . . .

I might try to get in another session of my Norse lit class this afternoon as well --- we'll see. I did listen to a session yesterday afternoon, on the first of the assigned sagas. I'm still slogging through Egil's Saga, which is the subject of the next session, but I think I'm far enough through it that listening to the discussion would be useful. My Gawain-Poet class starts next week, and I would love to finish this one before that one begins.

On the trip I did read a good bit of Egil's Saga, but I mostly read Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot mysteries, a fun escape. The little Belgian detective: always good and charming company.

Time to get dressed and walk the dog before we leap into the events of the day.

Wearing:

*Secondhand Not Perfect Linen Smock dress (M) in Emerald Green, bought November 2024, last worn July 3. Wears in 2025: 11

*Secondhand Xero Z-Trek sandals, year 1 of wear

For coffee-shop air conditioning:

*Secondhand O'Connell's of Scotland merino cardigan, owned since early 2023

I was feeling layered jewel tones today, and am really happy in my brilliant little green linen dress and sandals. This feels like the perfect summer outfit. If we go out tonight, I might switch the cardigan for my jean jacket, but otherwise, I'm good to go for whatever my day holds, expected and unexpected alike.
