THURSDAY, LENT 1/9x9 CHALLENGE DAY 4

Front yard birdbath with some later daffodils, still in bud, on a backdrop of forsythia. Last night the weather was so warm and beautiful that we had dinner --- a skillet of black beans, diced sweet potato, and corn in cauliflower rice, with some cream cheese whipped with lime juice to bind it all --- out on the porch. The setting sun caught those forsythia and turned them to golden flame. It was beautiful.

This morning I'm up early to go to Cullowhee to spend the day with Marly. Not spending the night, just a long day during which we might go hiking or not, depending on the weather. It's continuing warm, even in the high country --- 69F is the high there today, just a few degrees cooler than down here. I'll get dressed in just a minute, take Dora out for her morning constitutional, then hit the road around 8.

So I'm tweaking my outfit plan a bit to accommodate this rather last-minute development, and repeating my Iris Blue Sierra yet again, because it's a good dress for whatever, including a hike. I'll wear Birks but take a pair of hiking shoes just in case, as well as a jacket for possible rain or wind.

Wearing:

*Wool& Sierra dress (XS) in Iris Blue, bought January 2025, last worn day before yesterday. Wears in 2025: 12

*Secondhand Chico's linen button shirt, third year of wear

*Secondhand bamboo-cotton leggings, fourth year of wear

*Secondhand Birk Rosemeads, third year of wear

I could tie this shirt again as I did yesterday, but eh. I don't mind it as a "shacket" (idiotic word, but there it is). Again, I'll toss my hiking shoes in the car and hope to get a better outdoor shot later on, for the 9x9 challenge album --- but at least I've got these rather unnaturally lit ones (dark outside still, so I had to turn the bathroom lights on) to document my day.

Time to take the dog out for an early spin about the neighborhood --- here's hoping everyone else isn't out with their dog right now.
