SOLEMNITY OF THE DEATH OF ST BENEDICT (A UNIQUELY BENEDICTINE SOLEMNITY)

Spring morning view: sun, shadow, and bloom. The Artgirl is loading her car to drive away, which makes us all a little downcast, but it's a lovely day for a drive through the  mountains, heading west.

Today's plan:

*take the dog out

*see off the Artgirl

*go to the feast day Mass at Belmont Abbey, so as to partake in the solemnity

*come back and . . . I don't know . . . do stuff. There's a lot I didn't get done this week because I was wrangling with John Donne, so now I should probably accomplish some of it.

*dinner

Wearing today:

*Secondhand Not Perfect Linen Smock dress (S/M) in Dark Blue-Gray, bought December 2023, last worn --- wow, January 20? Been a minute. Like two months. Granted, these have been two months of really cold weather, though I have worn other linen dresses. Anyway, I love this dress and it's overdue for an outing. Wears in 2025: 3

*Secondhand Not Perfect Linen Bay tank in Oatmeal (M), bought January (?) 2025. First year of wear.

*Secondhand Allbirds tencel-merino leggings, repeated from yesterday. Bought early 2024, second year of wear.

*Secondhand Birk Rosemead clogs, third year of wear.

I really can't believe how long it's been since I last wore this dress. I love this dress. I guess I've been reaching for purples, greens, and pinks more than I have for grays or browns --- I also love my Chocolate Brown Leila, but I don't think I've worn that dress at all yet in 2025. Time is a-flying . . . and maybe I have too many dresses? Where is that fine line between too few (so you're wearing the ones you have right out) and too many (you're not wearing what you have)?

Maybe it is time for some further decisionmaking. I shall ponder.

In the meantime, I am dressed, which I guess means I'm also ready. For whatever.
