Creeping phlox in the kitchen garden, shimmering in the sun.
It's a Solemnity, I'm going to Mass this morning, and there's lots of work to do, so this will be quick.
Wearing:
*Secondhand Erika&Co. vintage cotton-linen floral pinafore, bought November or December 2023, last worn March 3. Wears in 2025: 4
*Secondhand Not Perfect Linen Bay tank in Dusty Blue, bought February 2025, last worn March 2. First year of wear
*Secondhand O'Connell's of Scotland merino cardigan, second year of wear. Or third?
*Secondhand Birkenstock Mayaris, bought April 2024, almost at the end of their first year of wear
I'd planned to wear my blue Indian gauze tunic under this pinafore, because that looks nice. I've had that tunic for about a decade now, and although I wear it maybe twice a year, I don't see myself getting rid of it. It's one of those things . . . I don't wear it often, but sometimes it's exactly what I want to wear. I'm thinking just now that maybe in May, for Mary, I'll wear blue every day, in the same way that I'm wearing purple for Lent, and that would be a good time to pull that tunic into more use . . .
Anyway, my eye fell on this blue linen tank that I bought just before the start of Lent, and I decided to wear it instead. The projected high today is 75, and it's still early enough in the spring that I get a real thrill out of bare shoulders in the sunshine. Actually, there is no time when I don't get a real thrill out of bare shoulders in the sunshine, but this time of year it's a particular treat.
Was going to wash my hair, then decided it could go one more day, up in a claw clip.
That Flannery O'Connor piece I banged out in less that a day.
