MONDAY, LENT 2

Leaving in just a few to spend a couple of days in the mountains with Marly, hopefully to be helpful as she sorts things out in the wake of her mother's death several weeks ago. I hope, too, that we can take some nice walks and breathe some fresh air and let all the burdens slide for a while.

Wearing:

*Wool& Willow dress (M) in Wisteria, bought February 2023

*Secondhand Peruvian Connection alpaca cardigan, bought September 2022

*Secondhand Allbirds tencel-merino leggings, bought January 2024

*Darn Tough Socks, bought January 2024

*Secondhand Xero Oswego shoes in Charcoal, bought January 2024

Damp-refreshed hair. Ready to drive through the mountain backroads and step out into the high-country early spring.

AFTERNOON UPDATE:

Me with a mountainside backdrop of early-spring trees, working on my book review while Marly does various administrative things related to her mother's death. As she says, death is both expensive and a lot of work. I'm just enjoying the sunshine streaming in through these huge windows, and the Lenten roses and crocus blooming outside. I don't think trilliums are up yet, alas --- I'd love to see some, but I think it's too early. BUT it's lovely to be here with the mountains all around, and nice to visit with Marly. A little mountain retreat with congenial writing company . . . I could happily do this a lot more often.
