A quickie for now, because I have a meeting this morning. It's still chilly out, winter upon us for a few days, at least.
Wearing:
Teal Willow, Day 22 for real this time --- I had miscounted up to yesterday. Wearing her belted for a change, because why not, with last night's blue wool scarf, Snag Red Velvet merino tights, and my trusty Birk Melrose boots. I'll put on my gray puffer jacket to go out, though by midday I might not need it. Right now, though, it's pretty crisp out there.
Scarf, belt, and boots all secondhand. Winter hair still very straight.
Still loving this dress. And off we go.
LATER:
Whew, back from a meeting that was honestly kind of a time-waster, but anyway. One of those situations where it was good for me to be in the loop, but I could have been in the loop without actually having to be present for the discussion, which did not concern me in any meaningful way at all. Oh well, it's good to be outta there.
Otherwise: I have played with the dog outside and ordered groceries. I've also responded to editorial suggestions for my Christmas poem, which will appear in, I presume, the December issue of America. My husband is supposed to be bringing lunch home, and my brain is refusing to do anything else until we've passed that milestone in the day.
The weather has warmed up a good bit, but I'm still plenty comfortable in the outfit shown above. I do like these Red Velvet Snags with my teal dress --- a fun combination.
My birthday is Monday, but my husband is taking me out to dinner tomorrow night, hooray hooray (though I'm still so stuffed from last night's pub outing that the idea of living it up again feels a little . . . I don't know . . . ). Anyway, I think I'll wear a different dress out for that dinner and wash my Willow, who has sustained some little coffee drips and things lately. That way Willow will be fresh and ready for a new week, the LAST week of this challenge that I guess I can admit I'm doing, because here we are. I've washed her once, I think? so far. So it'll be time, especially as I'll be going out, making appearances, and so on, in the coming week.
OK, lunch is here. Not that I'm really that hungry, but it's the milestone I have to pass before I can do anything else.
LATE AFTERNOON:
Well, whew, I've done ONE power-point, of six, for this metrical-forms class. The good news is that my power-point game is getting better --- I have background images of the Sutton Hoo helmet and a longship, plus videos of people reciting Caedmon's Hymn and lines from Beowulf.
