SUNDAY, ORDINARY TIME 24/WOOLLY NATURAL 23 DAY 258

Sunday-morning tablescape with laptop. It's cool and raining --- not hard, but a steady fine mist. I slept badly last night and was tired when I got out of bed this morning, but managed to put myself together to go to Mass in good time, and to spend a few minutes in the backyard with Dora, since it seemed kind of wet, and I was too tired, for a walk. I'm still tired and now, having eaten brunch, plan to vegetate as much as possible, but here's the style lineup for the day.

What I wore to Mass:

This was a good day to get my preliminary, transitional cozy on, in my redyed green Sierra (small long/seems to stretch more lengthwise by the hour) with my cobalt merino cardigan. I loved the deep saturated colors against each other, and the combination felt perfect for a cool, damp, almost-fall-for-real day. The belt is off a thrifted pair of trousers that didn't fit, so got passed along. Thrifted Birk Papillio wedge Mary Janes.

"No, really, haha, I'm awake. Now, where do I press with my finger on the phone screen?"

"AWAKE, I say! Hear, O Israel! Completely awake and rested and normal and ready for it."

"I am alive, awake, alert, enthusiAStic!"

Yeah, anyway, so we went to Mass, and it was good, and the readings about anger smote me, and only one hymn had cringey words (I'm in a Catholic church singing about symbols? Do we remember what Flannery O'Connor said about Eucharist as symbol? Do we even?). Then we came home and had eggs and Lavash flatbread and blueberries and kefir, and now I'm zoning in the study while Dora chews on a cow hoof. Just a normal one here. Outside the rain is sifting down, and the whole vibe is nice.

I did change clothes, a little bit, when I got home:

I actually wanted a pullover. It's not cold, but it is damp and a little clammy. And even comfier shoes. Verily, this is the way we spend the day.
