Same view as always from here at the table in the morning, but somehow I don't ever tire of it in the changeable morning light of a shifting season.
Last night we drove up to Blowing Rock in the golden evening and had dinner at the bar in the Ale House. It's still too early for any trees to be turning, but you can feel, in the higher country, that all of that is on its way soon. The air was cooler up there, though not chilly yet, and when we came out of the Ale House in the dark, I was glad I had my wool cardigan on.
Today we have nothing solid on but Mass --- otherwise a quiet, easy day. The high is 90F, not as hot as I'd feared, so possibly we could go walking by the river, but we'll see how we feel about that.
Wearing:
Teal Fiona + yesterday's cardigan (which I'll probably ditch pretty fast) + new Birk Papilio wedges. Claw-clip half-updo --- I really love the set of metal claw clips I bought at Walgreens some weeks back. Not expensive, but they hold my hair as firmly as barrettes used to, which is miraculous to me.
And I'm off to walk the dog, then to church.
LATER:
I've just realized, since the Texasgirl is doing this on Instagram, that there's a thing called "Secondhand September" going on. Or, really, I guess it's #secondhandseptember.
Anyway, whodathunkit, but I have worn at least one secondhand thing EVERY DAY IN SEPTEMBER so far.
