I'm waiting for my husband to be ready to leave –– we're going to pick up my car at the mechanic's, then he'll head to work, and I'll come back here to buckle down.
Wearing today:
After yesterday's adventures in cotton and bamboo, I'm back in mostly wool today: my charcoal-gray Sierra dress over this secondhand navy Patagonia long-sleeved wool tee, with cotton/bamboo striped leggings (also secondhand), my son's wool hiking socks (not seen but there), and AGAIN, this pair of Doc Martens, which seem to be THE January shoe.
Yesterday's outfit was fun, and I really wasn't tempted to change clothes once I'd settled on it, but gosh, does this feel like the right thing. I like how it pushes the envelope of totally boring –– like really, there would be nothing remarkable about it at all, except for the leggings, which feel to me like just the right amount of fun and surprise. Too much whimsy, and I feel I'm impersonating someone who's much more the life of the party than I am. Too little, and I feel like the paint on the walls. But this seems about right.
Claw clip updo again today:
Off to the mechanic!
LATER:
I'm back, with brakes, which apparently I didn't really have on the drive to Texas and back, cool cool cool, good to know.
