Posing here with the bed I'm about to make, preparatory to hitting the road. Trying to get to Dallas ahead of the weather, and planning to hunker down in Dallas until I can see a good way to get back east again.

Now for some coffee and to wedge our overnight belongings back in the very packed car.

My Docs are a little too big, so the addition of thick socks is always a good move. This is a pair I got at Target several years ago: wool blend, in pretty colors. Over my tights, they both fill up my boots and keep my feet warmer.
