Wednesday, July 21.
Turned in my entire manuscript revision today for an editorial meeting tomorrow.
Wearing Camellia with a braided silver belt and tan sandals; threw on my thrifted collarless denim shirt for Mass. Denim-on-lapis isn't that exciting a combination, but it'll do.
It might just be the filter (because the light in here is really not so much), but I'm intrigued by how purple this dress looks when I wear it with denim. Color combinations are such fascinating things.
Feeling in need of a change in scene, so I'm going home to sleep in my own bed tonight. That's the advantage, I guess, of doing a residency so nearby – though I suppose if I'd let them book me an AirBnB in the mountains, that would have felt like more of a holiday. I'd still have been tired and missed my kids, though.
Anyway, having this dress certainly makes it easy to go back and forth between places – just standing here, in what I'm wearing, I'm basically packed already. I have some laundry to wash, and my toothbrush and a change of underclothes to toss in, but that's it. If I want to add something to the basic outfit tomorrow, then there are still things in my closet I could work with, without my having to bring that much home (though in fact I am bringing home clothes I know I won't wear now that I have this dress).
So far, so good. Five days down, ninety-five to go!
Also: as much as I have enjoyed this residency and found it productive, I'm really looking forward to taking terrible webcam photographs in some other surroundings.
