THURSDAY, ORDINARY TIME 29

Autumn gold, early sky. I forgot to set my alarm for Mass this morning, so have been making my little reparation by finishing and returning my notes on my MFA student's novella thesis --- ticked that off the list, at any rate.

Same things on today as always: progress (I hope) on all the projects.

It's another quite-warm day with wildly varying temperatures: lows in the low 40sF, mid-50s at this moment, high of nearly 80F in the afternoon. Yesterday, sitting on the porch in the sun, I got hot in leggings and a wool dress with sleeves. So today I've gone for linen, with a top layer that I can change as the temperature rises, and return to as the evening cools back down.

Wearing:

*Secondhand Not Perfect Linen Smock dress (S/M) in Grape Wine, bought September 2024, last worn October 10. Total wears this year to date: 5. Not bad for a dress I've owned for a little over a month.

*Secondhand Connemara merino cardigan, bought October 2024, last worn yesterday.

*Secondhand Earth Shoes Mary Janes, bought August 2024, last worn yesterday.

Ignore the wet hair.

So, an all-secondhand outfit, and all items I've bought in the last two to three months, all of which are getting significant wear. I find this dress so versatile --- I can wear it all next summer just as it comes, but the dark, saturated color makes it easy to style for cold weather. I really like the green/purple complement relationship here.

I will shuck off this cardigan at some point in the day, but for now it feels good.

And . . . back to the mill, with more coffee to keep me going.
