Sunday-morning desk with breakfast dishes. I have about an hour before it's time to leave for Mass at St. Michael's --- we are pretty out of the 9 a.m. Mass habit, I have to say, but here I am, up and if not dressed, at least thinking about it.
So, Mass and then about 90 minutes of choir practice after. And after that, a Sunday afternoon of not much going on.
While I'm sitting here with my second cup of coffee, I think I'll sketch another quick outfit plan for the week. I didn't slavishly follow my plan last week, but it helped to have it in place, especially in the sense of putting more of my closet to use.
You'll see shortly what I planned to wear today, but here's another list of outfit possibilities, not tied to particular days (though Wednesday and Thursday I do have particular plans and will need to dress for them):
Not Perfect Linen Smock dress with Crocs or Xero Jessie sandals (to give the Birks a rest)
Floral pinafore with tank (either pink or teal) and Birk Balis (to give the Mayaris a rest, specifically)
Wed-Thurs: Church/choir dress clothes:
-Black concertwear linen dress and black cardigan, Crocs or Jessies
-Blue linen sleeveless tunic, navy linen dusty cardigan, light linen straight skirt, Crocs
Pink linen trousers with tank
Wisteria Willow with Birks
Next Sunday: either concertwear again for choir, or Marine-Blue Maggie dress with navy linen duster cardigan and Birk Papillios
I give myself permission at any moment to feel like wearing something not on this plan, but this at least gives me something to fall back on that I know will be fine, every day of the week. The fewer decisions I have to make in a given moment, the better.
POST-CHURCH:
Wearing:
*Secondhand Not Perfect Linen Leila dress (S/M) in Cinnamon Rose, bought December 2023 (or January 2024? Can't remember now)
*Very old rayon cardigan, bought probably in 2005
*Thrifted Crocs passed along by the Texasgirl
And after church and choir practice, on this very warm day:
Here's a back shot of the dress. You can tell what the necklines/backs of my other clothes are like by my tan line, already, but I still love the cut of this dress in the back:
Home now after a fun morning: a beautiful Mass with great music, followed by rehearsal with the festival choir for Corpus Christi and some visiting with friends --- what with one thing or another, I know a lot of people at that parish, so it's always nice to turn up there.
Now for a lazy Sunday afternoon at home with Dora . . .
