SATURDAY, LENT 5/PASSIONTIDE

Rain. Temperatures are warmish, but not really warm. Not much on --- I'm going to try to go early to confession, because I know the line will be long. Our local pastor has been unwell all through Lent, so there have been no weekday Masses or confessions, and I know that whoever the stand-in is for the weekend, the confessional is bound to be thronged.

Wearing today:

*Wool& Fiona (M) in Teal, bought November 2022

*The old Eddie Bauer thrifted cardigan

*Secondhand Allbirds navy tencel-merino leggings

*Secondhand Birkenstock Rosemeads

I'll need to change shoes to go outside, but this is the deal for the day: comfortable, nice colors, nice shapes. I always love this elastic-waist dress for its easy definition and graceful neckline. It's fitting me a little better these days, too, thanks to a tiny loss of belly fat (thank you, Pilates and weight-lifting). I enjoy the soft flow of the flared skirt and the fluidity of the bodice --- it's such an easy dress to wear, in a color that does good things for me.

Damp-refreshed hair still drying. You can see, if you look carefully, how much water I managed to spatter all over myself in the process of refreshing my hair.

Again, not much on today, other than (once again; happens every year) trying to drag myself actually to confession before Easter.

OH, BUT

The Fire Son is coming in, after two weeks in Kentucky, for a brief sleep before rushing out to catch a plane to Dallas, where his Loved One lives, at 5:30 in the morning. So I've got to go up and make his bed, which I haven't touched since he last slept in it, and think about what three people, instead of two, might eat for supper.

BEDTIME UPDATE:

I had to stand in line for nearly an hour, but made it to confession --- with our beloved former pastor, who is filling in for the current pastor, who has been unwell for the last month.

Fire Son rolled in around 5:30, and the three of us walked down to dinner at our favorite restaurant on the town square. He's up and out early, but it's been nice to have him around this evening.

And tomorrow is Palm Sunday! I can wear red instead of purple for an exciting change! Stay tuned, friends . . .
