Here, for your delectation, are some violets growing between bricks in my back walk. Another busy week ahead, with diocesan choir practice and any number of things that need catching up on.
Wearing:
A repeat of and variation on a favorite outfit theme:
*Wool& Willow dress (M) in Wisteria, bought February 2022
*Secondhand Japanese linen pinafore dress, bought November or December 2023
*Secondhand Peruvian Connection alpaca cardigan, bought September 2022
*Secondhand Allbirds tencel-merino leggings, bought December 2023 (or January 2024? I can't remember anything anymore)
*Secondhand Birkenstock Melrose boots, bought summer 2023
It's a lot chillier today, with a freeze warning tonight --- back to layers. At least I can keep my colors springlight and soft, even as I'm keeping warm. I love this simple little A-line pinafore. The linen is a satisfyingly heavy weave, and it's so easy to toss on over any top or dress. I'm looking forward to the end of Lent, so that I can wear it with more colors again. Teals and blues are especially nice with this soft camel/khaki tone. It's un-orange enough that pinks also work. For about $18, this was a terrific secondhand buy. I've lost track of how many times I've worn it since I bought it, but it's definitely been a regular in my wardrobe rota.
It's been a while since I wore this aqua alpaca cardigan, too. I love this blue-green with both the periwinkle of my dress/top and the soft neutral of my pinafore. For Monday-morning me, I'm feeling pretty good, looking forward to a day of work and an evening of choir.
AND AHA! My new Zenni transitional sunglasses are "out for delivery!" At last, at last. (I hope I don't hate them . . . you never know how things are actually going to look . . . at least that's also true of glasses I try on at the optician's, since I can't see myself in them any better in person than I can via a virtual try-on online).
Now to get on with things.
UPDATE:
Here's looking at you . . .
. . . quickly, before they turn dark, because they do. I think I'm really going to like these. I've got my blue glasses in a case in my purse, so I can switch them out, but these make a really nice change.
