TUESDAY, LENT 2: IN THE MOUNTAINS

Last night's moon through the trees on the mountainside. This morning is overcast, with rain promised --- not cold, but it'll feel chillier than yesterday. A good day to drink tea, write a book review, and maybe go out and hole up in a warm pizza place somewhere.

The view from the living room.

Some rainy garden photos:

Lenten roses dripping away in the wet, and crocus in a pot.

A little pottery kitty in the garden:

Marly said he was the foot to a pot, and broke off, so she had set him out to look pretty among the flowers.

Wearing today:

*Wool& Maggie dress (S/Long) in Aegean Teal, bought May 2023

*Secondhand Allbirds tencel-merino leggings, bought January 2024

*Old thrifted Eddie Bauer cotton cardigan --- again

*Secondhand Birkenstock Rosemeads, bought March 2023

This is the in-the-house version of what I'm wearing, anyway. When we go out I'll put my Xero Oswegos back on. It's wet out, and not warm, but really not cold, either, so I think with my Gore-Tex jacket I'll be fine outdoors.

The long version of this dress is really not too long, I don't think. Also, I love these Allbirds leggings, but they really wrinkle at the knees. I just wear them and don't care, but for anybody considering a pair of these leggings --- which I do think are great generally --- that's a caveat. It's probably more obvious in this really pale color than in darker ones.

Took a nice hot shower and got my hair wet, but didn't wash it. It's incredible how straight it gets at night, but wetting it makes the waves pop back up. I do not always feel like doing this, but when I do, I'm reminded how easy it is and how well it works. I'll probably scrunch in a little Reflex Serum as it dries more, but otherwise will make no particular effort.

And on with the day.
