SATURDAY, ORDINARY TIME 20/WOOLLY NATURAL 23 DAY 236

Friday-afternoon view out the back door. This morning all the windows are filmed with condensation, because apparently it's humid out there or something.

Here's a shot of the brewery in Belmont where we had dinner last night:

Fish tacos were delicious, and so was the doppelbock, brewed in cooperation with Brother Tobiah at Belmont Abbey. Skies going home were gloriously red --- here the sunset really hadn't gotten going yet.

Today it's back to Belmont for Sister Jane's celebration.

Wearing for it:

Fiona, for a fourth August outing, because I do love her so. She so easily looks festive and dressed up, just as she easily dresses down for a day of doing nothing. I'm trying her here with a scarf from my collection that I don't often wear, bought in a charity shop in Cambridge twenty years ago. It's not a size that I often find very useful, but I thought the fluttery ends, as well as the contrast, maybe added something to this otherwise rather plain outfit.

As you can see, I've run wet hands through my hair and dripped water on my dress, but now that I'm typing this, I see that it's already dried. Wearing my red Cassies again, because they're so much fun, especially with this lovely light teal. I'm not an especially graceful person, but this whole outfit makes me feel as though I were graceful.

Obligatory rear view. I do like the way this fit-and-flare shape works with my shape. It skims right over in such a nice, flowy way. I'm very eager to have another dress like this and feeling justified in settling on that idea.

Time to let the dog out now, before we scoot off to this whole celebration thingy. But I'm happy to have this dress to wear today. Turns out that dressing nicely is more of a no-brainer than I had believed for the entirety of my life up to basically now.
