Peonies!
Peonies!
Peonies!
Have I mentioned that the peonies are blooming? No? Well, they are.
It's the Feast of St. Mark the Evangelist, and I went in to the Abbey today for Mass --- also to meet a longtime online homeschooling acquaintance, who had come with her high-school-senior daughter for a college visit. We had time for a nice coffee and chat outside in the sunshine before their tour, and it was lovely to meet them in person.
Now I'm home, with an essay to finish and various other odds and ends to take care of.
Wearing today, in another series of action poses:
So, this is Fiona, just as she comes, pulling into the 5-wears club for April, alongside everybody but Audrey, so far. That gives me an outfit plan for tomorrow, I guess. Anyway, with 5 days left to go, this has been a great month for wearing my core wardrobe in steady rotation. Now, there's a lot in my closet currently that I have not worn, chiefly tops, for which I've been waiting for my Wool& skirt, but we can wait longer. But I am pleased that all my dresses, which really are the foundation of my wardrobe, have gotten even, consistent wear all month long.
I did have on a cardigan earlier in the day, when it was still chilly, but as the day warmed up, I took it off. Wearing Fiona with my old thrifted Birk Floridas, always so comfortable and easy for knocking around.
Part of the reason for all these photos is that I am attempting to get some less-flattering-angle shots, which are so easy not to get. For better or worse, it's good to know what a dress looks like on a given body from more than one side. Generally speaking, I continue to be very happy with Fiona. The blousiness of the bodice can be a little weird sometimes, but given that I really didn't have tailored-fit-and-flare expectations, I continue not to be bothered by that. I like having a more fitted look that's still fluid, not structured. This dress does make me want to spin. And I really think my favorite way to wear her is in this casual, knocking-around basic way --- although she can dress up nicely, too. Anyway, just a little Fiona Appreciation here . . .
Better get to work on something now, before I fritter the whole day away.
