WEDNESDAY, LENT 4/WOOLLY 23 DAY 81/WALSINGHAM PILGRIMAGE DAY 19

Much work to do today, so this will be quick. It's chilly and raining, but supposed to warm up a lot for the end of the week, after today. I've been out walking already in the rain with Dora, for a good hour, covering 3.2 miles. Yesterday's total was 5.53, bringing me up to 81.23 miles by the start of today. Getting there, getting there . . .

Wearing today:

Multiple light-ish layers seemed like a good idea. This is Camellia, over a thrifted Ibex merino tee, plus the old synthetic purple leggings I've been wearing the heck out of this Lent, plus my son's wool hiking socks plus my thrifted Birk hiking boots. Thrifted alpaca cardigan over the top.

Eating some black-bean soup I made for dinner last night, drinking sparkling water, pondering the little I know about Brabant in 1384, for . . . reasons. And looking at two books of poems that just came in the mail, my compensation for copy-editing one of them:

Here's a better look at the tee:

I like these colors together. I really like the grape tee with the royal-blue dress. Nothing matches, but everything harmonizes, a good chord.

Currently eating black bean soup, which I made last night, drinking sparkling water, and leafing through these two books which have just arrived, in payment for my having copy-edited one of them:

I'll eat my lunch and read a little, then try to turn my mind to essay-writing.
