Windowsill herbs: just had a very tasty tomato-basil sandwich for lunch. These will be even better once the tomatoes come from our garden, but honestly, at this point, I don't feel that picky (especially when lunch has to be meatless).
Lots to do today: helping a college student navigate housing when something went wrong for her roommate group in the online system, plus various administrative emails and other tasks. Monday, Monday . . .
A good choir practice yesterday, though boy howdy, do I need to work on Byrd's "O Salutaris" before next Monday. The only Byrd "O Salutaris" on YouTube is for six voices, and the arrangement we have is for four, and seems rather different from anything I can find to listen to, let alone any rehearsal tracks. So . . . gotta pick it out on the piano, with all the sharps.
Walked 3.31 miles with Dora this morning, which puts us at almost 102 miles: less than 20 to go! I've been really kind of surprised at how good a discipline this has turned out to be (giving up sloth for Lent, I guess?), considering that I just decided to do it on the spur of the moment in the middle of the first full week of Lent. It really has fallen into my lap like a gift. Most days I pray a whole extra rosary (my husband and I generally pray one together at night), plus the Divine Mercy Chaplet, which I hadn't been in the habit of praying. I meditate a lot on various psalm verses and hymns, and do a lot of repetitive prayer, like the Jesus Prayer. I haven't watched as many online meditations and Masses as I had thought, but maybe that's what I'll do in Holy Week, especially if I can knock out the remaining 18+ miles before my Good Friday goal.
I am thinking of doing another virtual pilgrimage in Eastertide . . . haven't quite decided what yet, but I would like to keep this discipline going.
Meanwhile, wearing today:
A repeat of Friday's outfit, with my Willow dress and blue EVA Birkenstocks. Simple, easy, no-thought dressing. And it's cute and fun. The high today is supposed to be 79F, and I was warm walking, but not too hot, even in 3/4 sleeves. I really do see wearing this dress into the summer --- maybe not on the very hottest days, but I think it's going to be breezy and comfortable for the most part, especially with bare legs and sandals. I continue to love this fresh, cool, springlike color. It just feels like a breath of fresh air when I put it on.
This just really is my color family, right here. And, feeling energized by the colors I'm wearing, I need to tackle the afternoon's tasks.
