Backyard shadows and dog, Saturday afternoon.
Now it's Sunday, we slept kind of late, and I'm swallowing down some coffee before walking the aforementioned dog and leaving for Mass.
Dressed already and wearing:
My marine-blue Wool& Maggie dress as a top under this thrifted 90s-vintage April Cornell maxi skirt, my new Xero Tari boots, and ThredUpped blazer from several years ago. I love these 90s garden-party floral patterns --- loved them then, still devoted to them now. But I especially like how I can make an essentially springlike fabric autumnal with a few tweaks of detail, like a blazer and boots.
Maggie is great as a tee, too. The graceful scoop neck really comes into its own in this role, and she's thin and silky enough not to create bulk under the skirt. It's going to be a lot warmer today, so I'll doubtless lose the blazer, but the dress still looks nice with the skirt. I also like that a long skirt means that I can have bare legs, but not look too bare for mid-October. It's a good transitional-season move that I don't make often enough.
I'm still waking up, but I am really happy with this easy (but completely different from my normal uniform) ensemble for today.
