I was too slow to catch the hummingbird among these blue-sage spikes, but he/she was there, feasting away. It seems late for hummingbirds, but I'm still seeing them daily, in multiples, often fighting, around the flowers in this garden.

Wearing for Mass today, as I wind up my little personal wear-it-forward challenge:
Wool& Maggie, worn yesterday, plus my red Xero Cassies, also worn yesterday. I do prefer this dress with some kind of shaping at the waist. As comfortable and flowy as she is, just as she comes, I think she's a little big, and I'll know next time to size down. Wearing her today with my old thrifted Loft cotton cardigan, in this delicious duck-egg blue, knotted over. I love this blue cardigan with other blues and will almost certainly include it in my capsule for conference travel next week. The shoes are a fun pop of color, always cheerful --- they make great dancing slippers, too! I'm about to walk the dog in them as well, because they're so comfortable and easy. It's my experience with this shoe brand that makes me not at all sorry that I went ahead and bought a pair of boots from them for the fall and winter --- I might dither over what dress I want to buy, because I know I can't buy them all (and I change my mind daily, so it's a good thing I haven't been in a hurry), but I KNEW I wanted those exact boots. I wanted the minimalist design, the light weight, the toe room, all of the things, and I'm looking forward to having them. Meanwhile, these red shoes are perfect for the transitional season, and I'm glad I broke my no-buy rule to get them.
Time to walk the dog, then head out to the Abbey.
