SUNDAY, LENT 2/NO-BUY 2022 DAY 72/SUNDAY MASS EDITION

Cold morning sun striking the back of the house and the office windows.

Muscari, or grape hyacinths, prostrated with cold but still exuding their dense sweetness.

Dora mucking about beneath one of the little faintly-blooming redbuds.

What I wore to Mass, because again, it was cold:

My secondhand Pact cotton-knit grape dress, functioning here as a skirt with my thrifted gray-blue lambswool pullover. Snag merino tights in Sand Dollar (again, a pretty accurate representation of the color, which I really love with this purple), and gray-green Doc Martens. I like all these muted colors together; they seem to hold each other in a good balance, with nothing sticking out too conspicuously. This is easily my favorite, most comfortable color combination, though it doesn't have to be these colors, just this level of saturation and sense of balance. I could probably have done with a scarf here, but eh.

The balance of these colors with my own coloring feels just right, too, which is probably why I like their interaction with each other as much as I do. It's all the right level of intensity and contrast.

College kids got home yesterday, and it is nice to have them with us.
