LAETARE SUNDAY/NO-BUY 2022 DAY 86

Friday was her big day, of course, but I didn't get a photo of her then. The bluebells are just starting to bloom around her feet.

Here's a wider view, where you see her in her shaggy garden: almost the last daffodils, plus forsythia, lilies, Rose-of-Sharon, a wild or feral multiflora rose:

More garden shots:

I moved containers from the back patio to the garden here, so that they'll get more sun. My plan is for a mix of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I also have a big Rubbermaid container that's going to go in the space bottom right, for strawberries. Dora has been scattering the pine mulch around, as you can see.

Bluebells in the shade.

The back-door shade garden as it looks this morning, with more ajuga blooming along the edge.

A view of the house through the redbuds, which won't last much longer in bloom:

I'm savoring them while I can.

They're the right color, more or less, for Laetare Sunday.

Wearing to Mass today:

Some rose, naturally. Or rather, some pink with roses on it: old thrifted linen jumper, thrifted white gauze blouse, thrifted Loft cotton-ramie tie-waist cardigan, Snag merino tights, Doc Martens. The blouse has a lace yoke, though I couldn't get a great shot of the details.

You can see the ribbing and cabling on the cardigan, though. I can't remember how many years I've had it, but it's a nice piece.

Now we're home and have had breakfast, after a lovely Laetare Sunday Mass celebrated by the Abbot, whom I am always glad to see and hear. I'm sitting out in the yard with Dora while my husband vacuums and mops inside, bless him. I like sweeping but hate vacuuming. I've changed clothes, to be warmer in the breezy, cool day:

Yet another repeat of my beloved Sierra, with thrifted blue Loft ragg cotton sweater and magenta leggings bought at Aldi a couple of years ago, plus thrifted Birk Floridas, which might just fall apart this year.  I've been sweeping the last leaves off the back patio to prepare the space for -- something. I don't know what. I'd sort of like to put a picnic table under those windows. Or maybe some more seating, if more seating happened to come my way. We shall see. I'd thought I'd mass more planters there, but I'm not sure I'm going to after all. Maybe some houseplants, since that space gets morning sun but then fairly deep shade once the sun moves all the way across the house. Again, we shall see. It's nice just to have a clean, paved space all the way down to the driveway fence, instead of mud and weeds.

I was reading only this morning that sun exposure early in the day is as important as whatever your bedtime routine is, in terms of supporting good sleep. I was out here this morning, soaking up sun, and now I'm out here again, doing the same. Whether I sleep or not, it's a pleasant thing to be doing, even though the wind wants to blow.

Still keeping up with the wardrobe tracker; still interesting (to me) to see what I wear a lot and what I don't.
