WEDNESDAY/CANDLEMAS/NO-BUY 2022 DAY 33

On my way to Mass at the Abbey with sad intentions for a beautiful day: two deaths, last night and this morning, in my online community. Wendi Capehart, one of the founders of the Ambleside Online program and a pioneer of contemporary Charlotte Mason education, died last night of Covid, less than a week after the death of her disabled daughter Angel from the virus (eta: I'm wrong about the timing. Angel died January 20). This morning a friend's husband died after a month-long struggle with Acute Respiratory  Distress Syndrome. These have been my primary prayer intentions for some time now; please pray for the eternal repose of their souls in the light of the Lord's gracious countenance.

Wearing:

Secondhand long-sleeved blue bamboo swing dress over a thrifted maxi skirt, Snag microfiber tights in Slate, Doc Martens.

LATER:

In happier news, my little artist-musician daughter played a public gig last night with one of her good friends. Also pictured, in the final shot, with the girl holding the Sebastian fan sign –– Sebastian is the musician friend also playing in the combo, and my daughter had made the sign for Battle of the Bands last fall –– is her brother the Viking. He is my one Wordle-playing offspring, and we text each other our scores every day, which is how we each know the other person is okay.
