Waiting: almost accomplished.
The tree is still standing in a bucket by the back gate, but I had to disgorge all these presents from the back of my car. Dora wonders: Anything for meeeeee?
It is so good to be back home and regaining something like my equilibrium again. I like to drive, but this road trip took it out of me. Fortunately, two sleeps later, I am feeling much more my normal self, which is a good thing, because there's a lot to do between now and Christmas Eve.
My older son reports that he has passed his EMT exams and made it safely back to Missoula, whence he will be making his way to our house in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. These kids and their cheap flights –– but we'll be overjoyed to see him.
My older daughter and her husband are in Switzerland right now, and it looks pretty sweet. She texted me a photo of the cathedral (in Zurich? I'm not sure . . . ) where they went to Mass this morning. They too will be turning up here for Christmas, though their cheap flights are like: Zurich to Pittsburgh, Cleveland to Charlotte, notice anything at all amiss about this itinerary? Anyway, we trust they'll get here somehow.
Speaking of Sunday Mass:
Still giving my wool dresses a rest, and getting another round out of my Poshmarked Pact cotton sheath dress. This is a combo from my last Shop-My-Closet round a few weeks back. I love the soft colors together, duck-egg-blue with grape. The cardigan is a thrifted item from several years back –– Loft, also cotton. I love the color and feel, but it's a bit square, shapewise, so I often opt to wear it knotted like this.
Love how my dress matches my bath mat. My mother gave us that mat a few years ago, I believe under the impression that she was giving us a doormat. I would not have chosen purple for either of those items, but as it turns out, there's some of that shade of purple in the stained-glass panel in the bathroom window, and it harmonizes nicely with our green-painted bathtub, so there you go.
(the downstairs bathroom in a state of cleanliness in which it does not currently rejoice)
Anyway, here we are. I'm not sure who's coming to Mass with us this morning, as the son was in South Carolina until something like five a.m. There's a hangover–– I mean, a LifeTeen Mass up the road in Hickory at 5 this evening, so that's an option for them as can't quite rise from the dead right now.
I on the other hand am feeling pretty perky.
And again, these colors make me happy.
