MAY RETROSPECTIVE: FAVORITE 30X30 OUTFITS

Sense some themes? I can remember when I thought I probably wouldn't wear that sage-green skirt . . . I can remember a time when I thought I wouldn't wear that light-blue shrug cardigan again . . . I can remember being dubious about buying that navy sheath dress off the clearance rack at Walmart.

What have I learned from this challenge? I don't know, really . . . except that 30 items of clothing is really a lot of clothing for 30 days. I did learn to wear a few things I hadn't worn, which was good. Looking back over the month, I do see more "miss" outfits than I wish I'd had, or at least a lot of days when what I was wearing was okaaaaaay, but maybe not more than than – though on the other hand maybe it's illustrative to note to myself what my favorites were. I feel so fabulous in blue and sage green, especially with the pale-pink belt, that now I just want to reach for the same *kind* of delicious cool colors in combination with each other, over and over.

Looking ahead . . . I'm excited to wear things I bought at Goodwill last week but put off wearing because they weren't in my 30x30.

As luck would have it, the weather's cooler this week, which makes it more feasible to wear jeans and button shirts, possibly over tanks. My friend Janet is here, and our plans for the week include a bookstore pilgrimage and a day trip to the mountains. It'll be fun to combine my favorite elements from the 30x30 (sage skirt, blue shrug, navy embroidered scoop-neck, sage shorts, navy sheath dress) with some of these new-to-me items.

Stay tuned.
